Does your child say things like:
What can you do when your child struggles to read and is falling behind their peers?
What can you do when their struggles directly affect their self-esteem and self-worth?
According to the International Dyslexia Association, language-based disabilities affect 15-20% of the population—that’s as many as 1 out of every 5 people. Of these disabilities, dyslexia is the most common cause of reading, writing, and spelling difficulties.
So, what can you do?
First, know that your child can learn to read! They can thrive. Their self-esteem can be repaired.
Whether your child is a non-reader, reads below grade level, or has a learning disability affecting reading, they can flourish through systematic and explicit instruction by a well-trained professional.
After working with me, your child will:
Imagine the smile on your face as your child realizes their true reading potential!
Learning cannot be approached in a “one-size fits all” manner. This is especially true for those who struggle in a traditional classroom or have a learning disability such as dyslexia. I believe that the learning process should be interactive and fun in addition to educational. I also believe that a child’s path should be child-centered, data driven, and re-evaluated periodically to ensure quality instruction. I am a proponent of collaborating with parents and teachers as this leads to valuable insights in shaping the framework of each child’s path.
During my virtual sessions, I incorporate educational materials, games, and movement when possible. Because every child's environment and needs are unique, their educational plans will differ. I draw on the child’s interests and provide educational choices when possible. I follow the science of reading, and completed my Master's level Certification in Dyslexia Assessment and Intervention from the University of Florida in 2023 and became an IDA certified Dyslexia Interventionist in 2024. Like my students, I am always gaining new knowledge and exploring new educational avenues to improve instruction.
